Articulation of a problem

The problem I encountered this week was our firm being brought out and feeling like it has lowered my personal motivation moving forwards.

Analysis of that problem

Now that we have been brought out by another team we don't have control over our financials and the results of our rollovers will have an impact on the team that brought us out which has led to a decrease in my personal motivation for the simulation.  

Formulation and testing of a tentative theory to explain the problem

I think this has happened because I feel a lessened sense of ownership and therefore responsibility over my firm and its decisions. I think that it is because our actions and results will also benefit or hinder another firm which is where my feelings of decreased motivation stems from and the fact our future rewards from our actions will also be going towards another group. 

Action/deciding whether to act

Obviously it is detrimental and unethical to my team, our grade and the company that brought us out if we were to throw the towel in as such and stop putting effort into our decisions. Therefore, I won't be taking action as such and be continuing how I was up until this point.

    It is evident that you have been able to pinpoint your disappointment in your team being bought out. This can often be quite a stressful time for teams trying to figure out their new dynamics. I am sure your teams will figure it out. Further, I appreicate the use of headers when using Daudelin’s reflection process as it makes your work easy to progress through. 

    In improving your journals for the future, I would recommend using the readings provided and perhaps researching beyond that as well. The readings provided are quite useful in developing your own understanding and provide a good basis for tackling challenges you may face. This would also be beneficial when ultimately writing your summative learning journal as it would give you valuable resources to draw from.  

    I look forward to reading more in the coming weeks!

    Its great to see your application of the Daudelin framework, its very evident to see you have a good grasp of the framework and how to apply it to your situation

    However for future journals maybe you can try and interpret other readings and theories into it in order to further strengthen your journals and showcase that you have a grasp on other theories other than the Daudelins one aswell.
